La Belgique est aux avant-postes dans la course à l’exploitation minière en eaux profondes. Une société privée implantée en Flandre, Global Sea Mineral Resources (GSR), filiale du groupe DEME, développe un robot destiné à récolter les nodules polymétalliques, avec le « parrainage » de l’Etat belge.
